With my extensive BMW history as a Ph.D. automotive engineer and a long tenure at McKinsey, I combine profound and broad expertise in the automotive industry with equally extensive knowledge in business and consulting.
I founded SAC in 2013 with the aspiration to provide our clients with a substantial and long-term added value through maximum quality in every action we take. SAC was meant to be more than just another consultancy.
I am grateful that over the past ten years, I have been able to continuously attract new reputable clients through my passion for automobiles and the high quality of SAC’s services. We have established SAC in the consulting market and actively contributed to shaping the transformation process in the automotive and mobility industry.
For me, delivering excellent consulting work means not only finding fact-based, optimal solutions but also demonstrating a strong commitment to the client organization and, above all, fostering genuine teamwork.
In addition to my role as a partner at SAC, I am a professor of corporate management at OTH Regensburg. My focus is on strategy development and internationalization. At SAC, I have the opportunity to put these topics into practice and, at the same time, continually receive relevant insights that enrich my teaching
Focus & Expertise
Over the past years, I have worked extensively on brand and product strategy in the context of vehicle projects. Through a combination of strategic thinking and technical understanding, I was able to support clients around the world in developing unique brands and defining high-level vehicle targets for vehicle development. In addition to brand and product strategy, I was able to demonstrate my skills in numerous other projects, such as developing market entry strategies for EV start-ups, cost analysis in the area of additive manufacturing technologies, developing circular economy strategies and conducting due diligence audits.
Background
I received my Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and a PhD from the University of St. Gallen. In my doctoral thesis, I addressed the transformation in the automotive industry from vehicles with a conventional combustion engine to electric vehicles and analyzed corresponding impact on the value chain. In my spare time, I like to hike in the mountains, play the guitar.
What excites me about SAC?
The focus on current issues in the automotive industry, highest quality standards, the international focus, and the enthusiasm of all employees for automobiles make SAC unique for me. It always pleases me to see how the combination of professionalism and strong team spirit makes outstanding achievements possible.
Focus & Expertise
The enthusiasm for alternative drives became apparent during my studies in practical projects in the field of hydrogen. Besides general knowledge about the automotive industry, I was able to deepen my expertise on e-fuels during my bachelor thesis in close cooperation with SAC. The focus of the study was to identify innovations along the value chain based on expert interviews and to evaluate the development of future production costs for e-fuels. The following full-time position at SAC opened the door to apply the gained e-fuel expertise in practice.
Background
I deepened my automotive affinity with my bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering from the University of Applied Sciences Munich. The combination of business and technological knowledge enables me to operate in a broad spectrum of automotive-related topics. In addition to my studies, I was also able to gain experience in project management in the motorsport department of ADAC.
What excites me about SAC?
As a true “car guy”, I am particularly pleased to see that the passion for vehicles is not only noticeable in project activities but is deeply anchored in the identity of the whole team. Even beyond the daily business context, it is noticeable that the colleagues have “petrol running in their veins”. Team events such as visits to the Nürburgring with the company’s own racing car or joint competitions in professional racing simulators are a highlight.
Focus & Expertise
From day 1 at SAC I was part of a project analyzing the strategies of OEMs regarding EV battery recycling. EV batteries and battery recycling developed into my main focus and further projects in this area followed. Besides other projects in the field of e-mobility, one of my functional focus areas is PMO.
Background
Before moving to Munich and joining SAC, I already worked for a consulting boutique in Frankfurt for 3 years. I have a General MBA from Quantic Business School Washington, am a Scrum Master and before becoming a consultant I worked as an evangelical pastor, most recently in Jerusalem and have a degree in Ev. Theology from the University of Heidelberg. In my free time, I love mountaineering in summer as well as winter, freeriding and surfing.
What excites me about SAC?
At SAC, I get to experience the current transformation of the automotive industry from the front row. I get to experience and shape at first hand how the most exciting industry for me is changing. The fact that 2/3 of our customers come from abroad makes the work here even more exciting for me.
Focus & Expertise
Shortly after joining SAC, I gained my first experience as a consultant. In my first project, we advised a Chinese automotive manufacturer on the development of a brand and portfolio strategy. This was the perfect opportunity to contribute my expertise in brand and product strategy. In this project, I was able to manage and implement my own workflows, which I believe makes for an optimal learning process. The most exciting part of the project was presenting the results and strategic recommendations to the client’s top management.
Background
I have a Master’s degree in Economics from Humboldt University in Berlin and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Freiburg. Prior to joining SAC, I gained professional experience in venture capital and investment banking. In my free time, I like to go on road bike tours around the Munich area or visit the numerous beer gardens and pubs to enjoy a few beers and delicious food. Furthermore, I am a big fan of soccer and American football.
What excites me about SAC?
The team is truly dedicated to making SAC’s motto “Inspiring Leaders” a reality, resulting in excellence in the work we do on a daily basis. This creates a work environment that allows me to reach my full potential and fosters my personal growth and ambitions. In addition to the world-class consulting methods and automotive expertise within the company, I especially appreciate the team spirit at SAC and how we support each other. This team spirit is not only lived out in everyday work, but also at company events such as the Summer Camp or at the Oktoberfest.
Focus & Expertise
As an energy technology engineer, my expertise is particularly on topics related to the value chain of Li-ion batteries and their recycling as well as the hydrogen industry. Nevertheless, my broad exposure at SAC allowed me to develop deep knowledge in topics such as brand and product strategy in the small vehicle sector as well as sustainability strategy.
Background
With a degree in mechanical engineering (majoring in power engineering), I pursued a technical-academic career with a strong focus on research and development. Although I completed internships in a wide variety of topics – from smart grids to hydrogen economics – I gained a lot of international project experience through volunteer work.
What excites me about SAC?
When I decided to enter management consulting after graduation, I was often warned that in this field you would trade thematic depth for intellectual flexibility. SAC brilliantly and uncompromisingly combines both aspects, so I can proudly say that we combine both top-notch consulting best practices and deep automotive expertise in our team.
